Traditionally farmers and have relied on their years of experience and their ‘eye’ to know when animals are gaining weight and are ready to be sold or slaughtered. But it’s far from accurate and many farmers are losing money as a result. We had to challenge this practice and show farmers that guesswork is leaving profit in the paddock.
We challenged farmers to guess the weight of a ewe and dairy cow to test their ‘eye’ and be in to win. This was a tangible demonstration of just how inaccurate this practice can be – only 6.3% of guesses were within 5kg!
Print, POS and digital invited farmers to txt their guess for the chance to win a Tru-Test EiD weighing system.
Depending on how accurate the guess was, a txt reply either congratulated them on their accuracy or invited them to try again.
